You’re earning 30 thousand? - pay them 15 grand a year
If you’re barely getting by there’s a food-bank near
It’s utterly predictable
They reap, you sow
Take a service for the public provided by the state
Sell it to the public at a cut price rate
The big investors move in, the market rolls the dice
Hoover up more shares, they can afford the price
The wealthy own the service, it’s run for profit now
The public are the customers - a great cash cow
Shareholders earn millions, a bonus every year
And when they shut the service nobody really cares
It’s utterly predictable

New election, a chance to vote for change
The storytellers tell us the alternative’s deranged
Buy into their papers, their television views
